The best gym for Jiu-Jitsu in Ipswich. The level and quality of the coaches is world class and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Facilities are always clean, mats are actually meant for these types of activities, and location is very easy to get to. Plenty of classes are available and times suit most lifestyles. The kids program is by far the best in the area, watching the coaches interact with the kids is amazing. If you are thinking about Jiu-Jitsu, make Ipswich Combat Academy your first stop.

Hi. I highly recommend this martial arts school. I started my BJJ journey at the age of 40+. Thanks to excellent coaches, I won my first competition after six months of attending classes. The coaches are very patient, understanding, and very helpful in mastering this difficult martial art. Furthermore, the school has a "family" atmosphere. Each "fighter" strives to maintain this atmosphere, regardless of belt color or experience, because they understand that each of them started with no foundation in this martial art. It's worth a try. I've a friendship who started BJJ one by one at ICA and eventually I went to try it. Originally was reluctant as it was outside my comfort zone and I never thought about doing something like this!

I went to try once and never stopped going! I'm even competing next weekend, so it's a leisurely hobby, but when I'm up for it, I can do it competitively, all within my pace. It's been great, from the point of understanding the sport better, which is way safer than what I thought, it's great fitness and the guys there are great, so there's a very good social aspect, and no egos which I like!

The instructors are great, Janis is a great black belt instructor and very experience. Same for the others

There are sessions everyday, weekdays have them in the morning afternoon and evening so I can go whenever works around me!

My son, who is just turning 5, absolutely loves coming here. Friendly and professional instructors who clearly love what they do and are very good with kids. I wish we could come more often😊Hopefully they're considering having classes on Fridays, too😉
